Getting a French tax account from abroad

The identifiers and account-access steps to settle before a filing deadline.

Direct answer

A non-resident who already has a French tax number can request creation of an online personal account through the non-resident route. Account access and the business filing space used for a furnished real-regime activity are separate operational questions.

Working route

01

Find the tax number

Check prior French returns and tax notices before requesting a duplicate identity. Keep the exact name and address previously known to the administration.

02

Request the right space

Use the official non-resident account-creation route for the personal space. A furnished-rental business return may also require a professional filing channel or compatible software.

03

Test access early

Confirm that messages, notices and the relevant declaration service are visible before the campaign deadline.

Hard stop

Do not create a second identity when a tax number may already exist. Contact the competent service for a blocked identity, inherited property or an unresolved business registration.
